Numbness or Tingling
Pregnancy Resources
Tissue swelling and fluid retention can cause some women to develop tingling, aching or numbness in one or both hands. Wrist splints can be used to lessen the symptoms. Nerves that become compressed by the uterus can also cause pain in the hips or lower legs called sciatic nerve pain. Rest or a maternity support belt may be helpful, and these symptoms generally resolve after delivery without further complications.
