Hip Pain/Pubic Bone Pain
Pregnancy Resources
Pelvic bone pain can occur late in pregnancy. Pregnancy hormones loosen the ligaments supporting these areas in preparation for delivery. This loosening allows the pelvis to accommodate the passage of the baby’s head and body in labor, but can also result in hip and/or pelvic bone pain.
To help prevent pelvic bone pain, avoid prolonged standing or walking when possible. Make sure to rest when needed and take warm baths or apply heat to the affected area. If necessary, Tylenol (regular or extra strength) are safe and can be used to relief symptoms.
