Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology PC Notifies Individuals of Data Incident

Provo, Utah – July 24, 2023 – Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology PC (“Valley OBGYN”) is a women’s health clinic with twelve locations throughout Utah. Valley OBGYN recently detected and stopped an attack to its industry appropriate network environment.

Upon discovering this incident, Valley OBGYN responded immediately to reinforce its network environment and launched a thorough investigation to take appropriate actions with the help of independent information technology security and forensic specialists.

Although Valley OBGYN has found no evidence that patients’ information has been specifically misused as a result of the incident, an investigation revealed that the following categories of patient information could potentially have been exposed: name, address, date of birth, social security number, medical treatment information and insurance information. Valley OBGYN is working to identify all individuals potentially affected by this incident. Potentially affected individuals identified by Valley OBGYN will receive a letter via first class mail outlining steps that they can take in response to the incident.

As of this writing, Valley OBGYN has not received any reports of related identity theft since the discovery of the incident.
