Fatigue is common during pregnancy, as your body’s resources are hard at work supporting and nourishing your growing baby. You may find fatigue especially noticeable during the first and third trimesters.
To help combat fatigue you can increase your fluid intake, take prenatal vitamins and an iron supplement, and participate in mild exercise. Exercising releases endorphins which help to energize your body. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and, if possible, allow yourself to nap when needed. If you find you are experiencing constant fatigue, please notify your nurse who can check your blood pressure and iron levels.
